The name “Camp Wakanda Forever” was chosen to capture the profound pride, energy, and inspiration that arose from the iconic *Black Panther* movie a film that resonated deeply with Black communities, celebrating strength, heritage, and unity like never before. Originally called “Camp TMMMV” to honor the legacies of Black leaders Toussaint Louverture, Marcus Garvey, Malcolm X, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and Viola Desmond, we reimagined the name to reflect the electrifying impact we witnessed when we took over two hundred youth and seniors to see *Black Panther.* After the film, their expressions pure motivation, wonder, pride, and awe were unforgettable. Many young attendees spoke of feeling inspired and uplifted, and older attendees were tear-stricken by the powerful representation and cultural pride on screen.

When asked whether they’d prefer the name Camp TMMMV or Camp Wakanda Forever, the youth overwhelmingly chose Camp Wakanda Forever. This name now embodies the spirit of Black empowerment and limitless potential that *Black Panther* ignited in our community. It symbolizes a future driven by pride, inspiration, and collective strength qualities we strive to instill in every young person who steps onto Camp Wakanda Forever’s grounds.
